West Ham United have confirmed the signing of Brazilian forward Pablo Felipe from Portuguese side Gil Vicente on a four-and-a-half-year contract.
The 22-year-old, who was born in Portugal, joins for a reported fee of €25m (£21.8m) and becomes the first player brought in since Nuno Espirito Santo was appointed head coach in September. Felipe has been in impressive form this season, scoring 10 goals in 13 Primeira Liga matches.
He will be eligible to feature in Saturday’s Premier League clash away to Wolves.
Speaking after completing the move, Felipe said he was delighted to join the club and promised full commitment on the pitch. He added that he understands how much supporters value players who fight for the badge and is determined to prove himself in English football.
West Ham have struggled in front of goal during the first half of the campaign and currently sit 18th in the Premier League table, four points adrift of safety.
