Aaron Hill produced a stunning fightback to secure his place at the China Open in August, defeating Gary Wilson 6-5 after recovering from a four-frame deficit.
The Irishman found himself 4-0 down as Wilson dominated the early stages, combining solid break-building with determined match play, including a 76 break in the second frame.
Hill, who had opened his qualifying campaign with a convincing 6-1 victory over Hammad Miah, gradually turned the match around. Breaks of 50, 54 and 73 helped the Cork cueist draw level before he completed the comeback in style.
The 24-year-old compiled his highest break of the contest, an 86, in the deciding frame to clinch victory and book his place in Taiyuan for the tournament in early August.
Elsewhere in the qualifiers, fellow Irish players Jordan Brown and Fergal Quinn were eliminated in the third round and first round respectively.
