Neil Robertson left in awe by ‘unbelievable’ John Higgins World Snooker Championship tactic.

Neil Robertson admitted he was hugely impressed by John Higgins’ remarkable tactical play during their World Snooker Championship quarter-final, describing his opponent’s safety game as exceptional.

Higgins secured a 13–10 victory, with Robertson highlighting how subtle positional play made a decisive difference. He explained that Higgins consistently created tight angles that may go unnoticed by viewers or commentators but are extremely challenging to deal with at the table.

Reflecting on the contest, Robertson said he found himself admiring the precision, even if it made the match frustrating. He noted that several of his own strong safety shots ones that would normally win frames were neutralized by Higgins, who repeatedly found solutions under pressure.

He added that against most opponents, those moments would have been enough to take control of frames, but against players like Higgins or Mark Selby, such advantages are far less secure.

Higgins, who had already knocked out Ronnie O’Sullivan earlier in the tournament, advanced to a semi-final clash with Shaun Murphy, after Murphy defeated defending champion Zhao Xintong. Their semi-final began evenly, with the score tied at 4–4 after the opening session.

On the other side of the draw, Mark Allen is set to face Wu Yize for a place in the final, following their respective quarter-final wins.
