Paige Bueckers was overcome with emotion after the Dallas Wings were eliminated from the WNBA playoffs following a dramatic first-round defeat to the Golden State Valkyries.
The Wings suffered a 77-73 loss in the decisive Game 3, allowing Golden State to complete a 2-1 series victory and bring Dallas’ postseason campaign to an end.
Dallas appeared to be in control after building a 16-point advantage, but the Valkyries produced a remarkable comeback to claim the win.
Following the game, Bueckers joined teammate Arike Ogunbowale at the press conference to discuss the disappointing conclusion to the season. The 24-year-old struggled to contain her emotions as she sat in front of reporters.
Bueckers eventually lowered her head and covered her face with a towel as she attempted to regain her composure. Ogunbowale immediately reached over to console her teammate during the emotional moment.
Both players had played important roles in helping Dallas return to the playoffs, making the first-round elimination particularly difficult for the Wings.
Bueckers has quickly established herself as one of Dallas’ leading stars since the franchise selected her with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft.
However, her second postseason campaign ended in painful fashion as the Wings were unable to hold onto their early advantage against Golden State.
