The seven-time world champion compiled a series of impressive breaks, including 125, 96, 75, 73, and 65, showcasing sharp form just days before the World Championship draw. Commentator Dennis Taylor described his play as “fast and furious,” noting how dangerous O’Sullivan becomes when in such rhythm. Higgins also acknowledged the display, admitting he had little answer as O’Sullivan “timed everything perfectly.”
Now spending significant time living in Ireland, O’Sullivan said he feels refreshed and back to his best after a difficult few years. He praised the atmosphere at Goffs, calling it electric, and expressed his strong connection to the country, where he now spends several months each year.
He also paid tribute to John Virgo, in whose memory the tournament was held, describing him as a beloved figure in the sport and a personal mentor.
