
Canada India Sherret from Cranbrook, B.C., secured a bronze medal in the World Cup ski cross event on Friday.
Switzerland’s Fanny Smith claimed gold, while Italy’s Jole Galli took silver.
This marks Sherret’s sixth podium finish of the season, placing her at the top of the World Cup standings with 750 points, ahead of her teammate Marielle Thompson from Whistler, B.C., who has 727. Thompson, who was fastest in qualifying, ended up 16th.
Courtney Hoffos from Windermere, B.C., won the small final to secure fifth place, while Edmonton’s Abby McEwen finished seventh.
In the men’s event, Italy’s Simone Deromedis won gold, with Japan’s Ryo Sugai taking silver and Sweden’s Erik Mobaerg earning bronze. Toronto’s Kevin Drury finished in eighth place.
