Dallas Wings teammates Paige Bueckers and Azzi Fudd have confirmed that they are no longer in a romantic relationship, while stressing that they continue to share a strong friendship and professional bond.
The pair addressed the development during the latest episode of Fudd’s iHeart Women’s Sports podcast, ‘Fudd Around and Find Out’, where they discussed their decision to go their separate ways.
“Paige and I have something that we want to share with everyone. We are no longer together,” Fudd announced.
Bueckers clarified that their relationship had ended more than a year ago, before Fudd was selected by the Dallas Wings as the first overall pick in the 2026 WNBA Draft. She dismissed suggestions that Fudd’s selection was influenced by their personal relationship, insisting that her basketball ability and talent earned her the opportunity.
Bueckers also emphasised that there is no bad blood between them, describing Fudd as an incredible person and basketball player. She added that they remain friends and have maintained a professional relationship throughout their season together in Dallas.
The former couple also addressed the negative reactions and online harassment directed at them, including hateful messages targeting their families and friends.
Bueckers condemned the behaviour, questioning why people who claim to support them would direct hostility towards their teammates, loved ones and families.
She acknowledged that relationships sometimes change as people move through different stages of life, explaining that although they are no longer together, they will continue supporting one another as friends and teammates.
Fudd, meanwhile, made it clear that they would not be sharing further details about their private lives. She acknowledged that fans might have additional questions but said they had addressed everything they were comfortable discussing publicly.
The two also revealed a special sign-off inspired by their teammates, featuring a broken-heart gesture followed by a fist bump. Their message was simple: although their romantic relationship has ended, their friendship remains intact.
Away from the personal announcement, the podcast featured a broader discussion about basketball. Bueckers made her long-awaited appearance on the show, reflecting on her first WNBA playoff campaign, winning gold with Team USA at the FIBA World Cup and the Wings’ upcoming move to the American Airlines Center in Dallas.
Fudd also discussed her achievement of becoming the first rookie to win the WNBA All-Star Three-Point Contest and revealed her plans to play overseas during the winter.
