The 2026 Shenzhen Open is down to its final four players, with the semi-finals scheduled for Saturday, October 3. The event, formerly known as the Xi’an Grand Prix when it was held in Xi’an in 2024 and 2025, has been rebranded as the Shenzhen Open and is making its debut on the professional snooker calendar under its new name.
Judd Trump has progressed to the semi-finals and will face Wu Yize in the afternoon session. The other last-four encounter sees Yuan Sijun take on Jimmy Robertson.
The tournament is the sixth ranking event of the 2026/27 snooker season, following the English Open. It also featured the return of Ronnie O’Sullivan, although his comeback ended prematurely when he suffered a second-round defeat to China’s rising star Jiang Jun.
John Higgins was another notable early exit, losing 5-4 to England’s David Grace.
Last year’s tournament, held in Xi’an, saw Mark Williams make history by becoming the oldest player to win a ranking event. The 50-year-old Welshman defeated Shaun Murphy 10-3 in the final.
The Shenzhen Open began on September 28 and will conclude on October 4, with £850,000 in total prize money available. The champion will collect £177,000, while the runner-up receives £76,000. Players reaching the semi-finals are guaranteed £34,500.
