Arsenal forward has been named the club’s Women’s Player of the Season following a fan vote after an outstanding 2025/26 campaign.
Russo enjoyed the most prolific season of her career, scoring 24 goals in 40 appearances across all competitions. Among her standout performances was a memorable hat-trick in Arsenal’s 5-2 victory over Tottenham Hotspur in the North London derby at Emirates Stadium in March.
The England international also continued to shine on the international stage, recently netting the winner in a 1-0 FIFA Women’s World Cup qualifying victory over Iceland. The strike came in the Lionesses’ 500th match and moved Russo into England’s top 10 all-time goalscorers with 30 international goals.
Her impressive European form earned her a place in the UEFA Women’s Champions League Team of the Season after scoring nine goals in 12 matches and helping Arsenal reach the semi-finals.
Russo also made club history by becoming the first Arsenal player to register a goal or assist in six consecutive away matches in the Women’s Super League, contributing five goals and four assists during that run.
She finished the league season with a career-best 13 WSL goals, surpassing her previous best of 12. Russo also led the division in away goals with eight and ranked second for away assists with five.
The award caps a remarkable season for Russo, whose goals and creativity played a key role in Arsenal’s success throughout the campaign.
