Chelsea have officially unveiled their new Nike home kit for the 2026/27 season, with the club’s iconic lion emblem taking centre stage in a design that blends tradition with modern innovation.
After weeks of teasers through global promotional events and appearances by members of the Chelsea family, the shirt is now available at Stamford Bridge and through the club’s online store. The design features Chelsea’s refreshed crest woven into the fabric in bright blue, following consultations with supporters. Gold accents highlight both the lion badge and Nike logo, while a classic collar and buttoned neckline add a distinctive touch.
The kit also includes white socks decorated with a laurel wreath pattern that complements the shirt’s two-tone blue design. The launch coincides with the 75th anniversary of former manager Ted Drake reshaping Chelsea’s identity, replacing the “Pensioners” nickname with “The Blues” and introducing the now-famous lion symbol.
On the performance side, the jersey debuts Nike’s Aero-FIT technology, designed to deliver significantly greater airflow than previous materials in demanding conditions. It is also Nike’s first elite-level performance kit made entirely from textile waste, supporting efforts to reduce environmental impact.
Chelsea’s launch campaign has reached supporters worldwide. Golf star Justin Rose was among the first public figures seen wearing the shirt, while singer Madonna featured it in social media posts. In Brazil, musician MC Hariel wore the kit before a crowd of 30,000 at a music festival.
The club also marked the launch by opening a renovated community football pitch in Diadema, near São Paulo. The facility, used daily by local children and young people, has been upgraded with a new playing surface and murals celebrating the connection between Chelsea and Brazil, with additional improvements planned.
Several stars from Chelsea’s men’s and women’s teams modelled the new strip, including Cole Palmer, Reece James, Lauren James, Ellie Carpenter, Estevão Willian, Lucy Bronze, João Pedro, Erin Cuthbert, Levi Colwill and Naomi Girma.
Combining heritage-inspired elements with cutting-edge technology, Chelsea say the new home kit reflects both the club’s history and its ambitions for the future.
