Bueckers hopes the spotlight shifts to Fudd simply as a basketball player.

Paige Bueckers addressed ongoing attention around her relationship with Azzi Fudd during the Dallas Wings media day, stressing that their private lives should remain just that. She noted that whatever they choose to share is entirely their decision.

The pair, former No. 1 high school recruits and longtime teammates at University of Connecticut women’s basketball, have built a strong history together, including winning a national championship in 2025. Bueckers emphasized that their professionalism has never been in question and that they have consistently kept off-court matters separate from their performance

She added that both players are experienced in handling attention and will continue focusing on leadership, teamwork, and helping Dallas succeed on the court. Bueckers also made it clear she intends to address the topic only once, redirecting future questions back to basketball.

Highlighting Fudd’s credentials, Bueckers said her teammate earned her top draft selection on merit alone, pointing to her resilience, standout season, and individual talent, insisting she deserves recognition purely for her abilities as a player.

Fudd, selected first overall after an All-American campaign, also expressed excitement about reuniting with Bueckers, describing it as special and noting their existing chemistry as a major advantage. Team leadership echoed that sentiment, praising her competitiveness, work ethic, and elite shooting ability.

Dallas opens its season on May 9 against the Indiana Fever, featuring a clash of recent No. 1 picks.

Caitlin Clark to release children’s book

Caitlin Clark is set to publish a children’s book titled EXTRAordinary! A Little EXTRA to Reach BIG Dreams, scheduled for release on November 3 through Random House Books for Young Readers.

The book, written in rhyme and illustrated by Adriana Predoi, centers on perseverance, effort, and the importance of support systems. Clark said the project was inspired by a phrase from her childhood that emphasized going beyond the ordinary.

She hopes the story encourages young readers to pursue their goals while recognizing the value of the people who help them along the way.

The Indiana Fever guard, who has played a major role in boosting the visibility of women’s basketball, recently returned from injury and featured in a preseason win against the New York Liberty.
