J.J. Quinerly Debuts in Dallas
Last Wednesday, the Dallas Wings hosted a press conference to introduce their 2025 WNBA Draft Class, featuring standout West Virginia graduate J.J. Quinerly. A cornerstone of the WVU women’s team that made three straight NCAA Tournament appearances, Quinerly etched her name in program history. She became the 11th Mountaineer ever drafted and the only one to finish her career with over 2,000 points, along with 300+ rebounds, steals, and assists. Her accolades include All-American honors and back-to-back Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year awards. At her introductory presser, Quinerly energized the crowd by emphasizing her defensive prowess.
“I love defense,” she said. “I love causing havoc on that end of the floor, and that’s what I’m going to keep doing.”
New Campbell coach John Andrzejek will be hiring West Virginia guard Joseph Yesufu as an assistant coach, source told @thefieldof68.
Yesufu played at Drake and was on Kansas’ national title team in 2022.

Former WVU Star Steps Into Coaching
Joseph Yesufu, who recently wrapped up his college career with West Virginia men’s basketball, is now shifting from player to coach. Campbell University’s new head coach, John Andrzejek a former ESPN ’40 Under 40′ honoree has tapped Yesufu to join his inaugural staff as an assistant, according to Field of 68’s Jeff Goodman.

Yesufu spent the past season at WVU, averaging 6.4 points and 2.0 rebounds per game, following previous stints at Drake and Kansas, where he helped the Jayhawks to a 2022 national title.
New Staff Members Join WVU Men’s Basketball
Meanwhile, new WVU head coach Ross Hodge is assembling his coaching staff as he looks to reshape the Mountaineers’ program. Thus far, five new hires have been confirmed. One notable addition is Phil Forte, who joins WVU as an assistant coach after his time at North Texas.
