On Thursday, the Mountaineers landed a commitment from wide receiver Logan Ramper, a standout pass catcher out of Slippery Rock University. Ramper, who spent the last few seasons lighting up defenses in Division II, brings a unique combination of speed, hands, and route-running precision. At Slippery Rock, he established himself as one of the top wideouts in the PSAC (Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference), recording 72 receptions for 1,115 yards and 12 touchdowns during the 2024 campaign. His consistent production and ability to stretch the field vertically quickly caught the attention of FBS programs, but it was West Virginia that ultimately won him over.

“I chose West Virginia because it felt like home,” Ramper said in a statement following his commitment. “The coaching staff believes in me, and I’m excited to prove that I can compete at the Power Five level.”

Standing at 6-foot and weighing 185 pounds, Ramper isn’t the biggest receiver on the field, but his explosiveness and work ethic more than make up for it. His tape shows a polished receiver who can line up both inside and outside, making him a valuable asset in West Virginia’s evolving offense. He’s expected to bring immediate competition to a receiving unit that saw its fair share of ups and downs in 2024.
