‘Unstoppable Force’: How Aliyah Boston Powered the Fever to Victory Over the Aces.

INDIANAPOLIS — Indiana Fever guard Odyssey Sims knew exactly what her role was in helping Indiana secure a Game 4 win over the Las Vegas Aces in the WNBA semifinals on Sunday.

“My focus was to make sure I got AB (Aliyah Boston) the ball,” Sims said after the Fever’s 90-83 victory at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. “Nobody can stop her in the post.”

Boston delivered a dominant performance, finishing with 24 points, 14 rebounds, and five assists. She explained that she focused on establishing deep post position, finishing at the rim, and drawing fouls. Her effort paid off as she went 10-for-13 from the free-throw line, leading all players in both attempts and makes. Sims praised Boston’s assertiveness and said she hopes the team can carry that same energy into Game 5 on Tuesday.

With Boston leading the way, the Fever played with a sense of urgency that drew compliments from head coach Stephanie White. “We were the aggressor today, and when we’re aggressive and move the ball, good things happen,” White said.

Boston also highlighted the team’s ball movement: “I thought we moved the ball a lot better. Everyone got good looks, and we trust each other to take shots with confidence.”

That trust has helped Indiana persevere through a season riddled with injuries. The Fever lost star guard Caitlin Clark to a season-ending groin injury on July 15. Sydney Colson (left knee) and Aari McDonald (right foot) were sidelined on Aug. 7, followed by Sophie Cunningham (torn right MCL) on Aug. 19 and Chloe Bibby (left knee) three days later.

“We over me,  that’s been our identity all season,” Boston said. “Whether you’re healthy or not, everything you do is for the betterment of the team. That’s how we approach every practice, every film session, every game.”

Now, Indiana is one win away from its first WNBA Finals appearance since 2015. Reflecting on the team’s resilience, Boston added: “For me, all credit goes to God. Despite losing key players to injuries, no one hung their head. We’re going to do everything we can to be successful.”
