UConn Huskies standout KK Arnold has been actively supporting her former teammate Paige Bueckers, who’s shining in her WNBA rookie season. Arnold frequently comments on Bueckers’ Instagram posts and occasionally shares her photos to her own story. On Monday, Bueckers posted a photo carousel from several WNBA games, captioned only with a dancing woman emoji.
KK Arnold reacted to the post with a three-word comment.
“so smooth cuh😗,” she wrote.
The photos featured Bueckers on the court with her Dallas Wings teammates, as well as shots of her pregame outfits. The final image included Bueckers with another ex-UConn teammate, Kaitlyn Chen, who now plays for the Golden State Valkyries. So far this season, Bueckers is averaging 18.5 points and 5.5 assists per game, although her Wings sit at the bottom of the Western Conference with an 8–21 record.
Arnold and Bueckers were teammates at UConn for two seasons and built a close friendship, known for their TikTok videos and lighthearted interactions. The pair won a national title last season before Bueckers entered the WNBA Draft in April.
Meanwhile, Arnold is making the most of her summer break. She’s attended multiple high-profile events, including the WNBA Draft, ESPY Awards, and All-Star Game, and even threw the ceremonial first pitch at a Milwaukee Brewers game. On Monday, she posted a photo hanging out with her current UConn teammates at a game featuring former Husky Aaliyah Edwards, who now plays for the Washington Mystics. The selfie, originally posted by Edwards, shows Arnold with Caroline Ducharme, Ayanna Patterson, Jana El Alfy, Ice Brady, and Sarah Strong all of whom are set to return to UConn next season as they aim to defend their national championship.
