The UAE Team Emirates-XRG demonstrated outstanding teamwork throughout the 2025 Tour de France, with Tadej Pogačar leading the charge from Lille to Paris, backed strongly by his teammates. The squad excelled in both the Pyrenees and the Alps, finishing their ninth Tour with five stage wins four by Pogačar and one by Tim Wellens on stage 15. Pogačar consistently held off rival Jonas Vingegaard of Visma-Lease a Bike, including during the Dane’s bold attack on stage 18, ultimately preventing him from reclaiming his 2022 and 2023 titles. Vingegaard placed second overall, with Florian Lipowitz of Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe securing third.
In a historic feat, Pogačar became only the second rider since Maurice Garin in 1903 to avoid losing time to any of the top five contenders over the first 20 stages. He also claimed his third King of the Mountains title, underlining his dominance in the climbs. The race kicked off with intense action in Brittany and Normandy, where Pogačar won a dramatic stage 4 to Rouen and took victory at Mûr-de-Bretagne in stage 7. Even after losing a teammate before the first rest day, UAE Team Emirates-XRG bounced back in the second week, shining in the Pyrenees.
Pogačar added consecutive wins at Hautacam and Peyragudes, while Wellens triumphed on stage 15, bringing the team’s all-time Tour de France stage wins to 26. Wearing the Yellow Jersey for 13 stages, Pogačar dominated the mountain stages and clinched both the overall and King of the Mountains classifications.
This victory marked UAE Team Emirates-XRG’s fourth Tour de France title. Pogačar completed the race in 76 hours, 32 seconds finishing 4 minutes and 24 seconds ahead of Vingegaard, and 11 minutes clear of Lipowitz.
