After dominating the UAE Tour earlier this year, Tadej Pogačar is set to make his highly anticipated return to European road racing on March 8th, aiming for his third Strade Bianche victory in four years.
His performance at the 2024 Strade Bianche was nothing short of remarkable. Claiming his second win in the prestigious Italian classic, the Slovenian showcased his dominance by launching a decisive attack with 81km to go making it clear he was the strongest rider in the field and setting the tone for an impressive 2024 season.
“Strade is a race that holds great memories for me,” Pogačar shared in a press release on UAE Team Emirates – XRG’s official website. “I have a solid track record there, and I hope to be at the front of the action again on Saturday. The start list is always strong for these big races, which makes it exciting for both us and the fans.”
Already off to a winning start in 2025, the reigning world champion claimed two stage victories and the overall title at the UAE Tour. “Starting the season in the UAE was great, and winning made it even better,” he said. “The team is in great form with several wins already, and we’ll aim to keep that momentum going in the upcoming races.”
