South Carolina Player’s Dad Sends Strong Message to Dawn Staley After Departing Team..

The South Carolina Gamecocks women’s basketball team has consistently showcased excellence in recent seasons under the leadership of head coach Dawn Staley. A Naismith Basketball Hall of Famer, Staley has guided the team to three national championships in 2017, 2022, and 2024. Her tenure has also seen the recruitment of standout players like Bree Hall, who left a lasting mark on the program.

Hall recently concluded her fourth season with the Gamecocks, posting averages of 6.3 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 1.0 assist per game as a senior. After her final season, her father, Bryan Hall, expressed gratitude to Coach Staley for her guidance and support.

“Thank you so much for investing in Breezy and giving her the chance to play for South Carolina,” Bryan Hall said. “We’ll always be thankful.”

Staley responded with her own heartfelt message on social media, praising Hall and promoting her for the WNBA Draft.

“Bree Hall, you’ve been a champion both on and off the court,” Staley wrote. “You came. You gave. You conquered. You made us better. Now the WNBA and the world gets to see what you brought to us. Love you, Breezy!”

Over her four-year career, Hall averaged 5.8 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 0.7 assists per game, and won two national titles. The Gamecocks’ most recent season ended with a loss in the national championship game to Geno Auriemma’s UConn Huskies.
