Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham has shed new light on what it’s like sharing the court with rookie sensation Caitlin Clark, describing her as a player who holds a “rare level of control” over the team’s offense and energy. In a recent interview, Cunningham praised Clark’s composure and leadership, emphasizing that her influence extends well beyond her scoring and highlight passes.
“Caitlin’s got this unique ability to command the game,” Cunningham said. “Even as a rookie, she reads the floor like a veteran. When she’s out there, the pace, the spacing, the ball movement everything just feels smoother. It’s rare to see that kind of control from someone so new to the league.”
Cunningham, who joined the Fever during the 2025 WNBA season, also noted how Clark’s presence has shifted the team’s dynamics. The 2024 No. 1 overall pick has quickly become the emotional and tactical centerpiece of the franchise, lifting Indiana from a rebuilding phase to legitimate playoff contention.
