Sharon Osbourne has shared an emotional health update on her husband, Ozzy Osbourne, as he prepares for his final performance with Black Sabbath. The legendary heavy metal band is set to reunite for a one-night-only event titled Back to the Beginning, scheduled for July 5, 2025, at Villa Park in Birmingham, England—the band’s hometown.

 

Ozzy, 75, has faced significant health challenges in recent years, including a Parkinson’s disease diagnosis in 2020 and multiple spinal surgeries following a 2019 fall. These conditions have led to severe mobility issues; Sharon revealed that her husband can no longer walk unaided. Despite these setbacks, she emphasized that his voice remains as powerful as ever. In a recent interview, Sharon expressed, “It’s heartbreaking for me to see my husband in a position where he’s not self-sufficient… He was so vibrant, with such a zest for life.”

 

The upcoming show will mark the first time in over two decades that Black Sabbath’s original lineup—Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward—will perform together. The event aims to raise funds for Cure Parkinson’s, Birmingham Children’s Hospital, and Acorn Children’s Hospice, with proceeds supporting these charitable organizations.

 

In preparation for the performance, Ozzy has been working closely with physical therapists and vocal coaches. Guitarist Zakk Wylde mentioned that Ozzy might perform from a “throne” during the show, considering his health limitations. Sharon described the event as a bittersweet farewell, stating, “It’s time for Ozzy to say goodnight to everybody… what better way to do it than to do it surrounded by your friends, your family, and back to the beginning, the place where he was born in Aston?”

 

Despite the challenges, Ozzy remains optimistic. In a recent interview, he reflected on his journey, saying, “I can’t walk, but you know what I was thinking over the holidays? For all my complaining, I’m still alive… I look down the road and there’s people that didn’t do half as much as me and didn’t make it.”

 

As the date approaches, fans worldwide are eager to witness this historic reunion. The Back to the Beginning concert promises to be a memorable event, celebrating Ozzy Osbourne’s enduring legacy and his indomitable spirit.
