Following a difficult 2024 NASCAR season, Kyle Busch is aiming for a strong comeback in 2025 but could that include a long-awaited Supercars debut?
SVG’s Take on Busch in Supercars
Supercars star Shane van Gisbergen (SVG), who has successfully transitioned into NASCAR, believes Busch could shine in Australia’s top touring car series.
”I would have loved to see how Kyle Busch went last year in the Supercar. It would have been very difficult, but I’m sure if he took it seriously, he would have done really well. Hopefully, that happens this year,” said SVG.
Despite his struggles with NASCAR’s Next Gen car last season, Busch has kept his racing skills sharp on dirt tracks. Alongside his son, Brexton, he dominated the Tulsa Shootout and placed 15th in his Chili Bowl Nationals debut. With his diverse racing experience, many believe Busch could adapt well to Supercars, much like SVG’s smooth transition into NASCAR road courses.
Could Kyle Larson Join the Supercars Scene?
SVG isn’t only eyeing Busch, he’s also interested in seeing 2021 NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Larson test his skills in Supercars.
“There’s talks actually Kyle Larson might go and do it. Yeah, I’d love to help them if they have any questions. I’d be really interested to see how they went, van Gisbergen shared.
Larson, renowned for his versatility across multiple racing disciplines, recently won $100,000 at Australia’s Perth Motorplex during his High Limit Racing series. With his proven adaptability, many see him as a natural fit for a Supercars challenge.
Why a Busch & Larson Supercars Appearance Would Be Major
The addition of Busch and Larson to the Supercars grid could have a significant impact by:
✅ Expanding Supercars’ global profile, especially in the U.S.
✅ Testing top NASCAR drivers against elite Australian talent.
✅ Providing Busch and Larson with a new motorsport challenge.
✅ Potentially sparking more crossovers between NASCAR and Supercars.
Will They Accept the Challenge?
Although Busch withdrew from the 2024 Adelaide 500, 2025 offers a fresh opportunity to make his Supercars debut. Meanwhile, Larson’s packed racing schedule has never stopped him from embracing new challenges.
If either driver accepts SVG’s invitation, it could be a monumental moment for motorsports fans on both sides of the globe.
