Rich Rodriguez bans West Virginia football players from TikTok dancing.

West Virginia football coach Rich Rodriguez has banned his players from dancing on TikTok, stating that it doesn’t align with the image he wants for the program. While players are still allowed to use the app, Rodriguez made it clear that dancing on it is off-limits.

“We try to maintain a tough mentality, and seeing players dancing in tights on TikTok isn’t exactly the image I want for our team,” he told the Associated Press.

Rodriguez didn’t specify whether an incident at WVU or his previous school, Jacksonville State, influenced this decision. However, he emphasized that once players are no longer part of his team, they are free to do as they please.

“I can set rules. Twenty years from now, if they want to sit in their basement in pajamas, eating Cheetos, watching TikTok, or whatever go for it. But right now, our focus should be on winning football games, not trending on TikTok.”
