With record crowd watching, Sky get blown out by Fever in first WNBA game at United Center.

CHICAGO (AP) — Tyler Marsh, head coach of the Chicago Sky, recalled being part of the 2020 NBA All-Star Game at the United Center when he served as an assistant with the Toronto Raptors.

He also noted that his first WNBA All-Star experience came two years later, also in Chicago, at Wintrust Arena.

“These have been some really special moments,” Marsh said.

Another memorable one happened Saturday night. Despite the Sky suffering a heavy 79–52 loss to Indiana, the game marked the first WNBA matchup held at the United Center.

“This is a milestone for the league,” said Marsh, now in his debut season with the Sky. “It’s meaningful for our organization, our staff, and the entire city. What makes it special is the chance to represent Chicago in such a historic venue. We fully understand the importance of this moment and personally, being part of it and representing both the Sky and the WNBA is something I deeply value.”

The game, which was moved from the more intimate Wintrust Arena, was expected to spotlight rising stars Angel Reese of Chicago and Caitlin Clark of Indiana. However, it didn’t unfold as anticipated.
