Prayers Pouring In For Women’s Tennis Star Iga Swiatek.

Iga Swiatek's 2025 season has been anything but smooth.

The former world No. 1 hasn’t lifted a trophy since her triumph at the 2024 French Open. She aimed to end that title drought at this year’s Bad Homburg Open, where she faced US Open finalist Jessica Pegula in the final. Swiatek had quieted some critics with strong wins over Jasmine Paolini and Ekaterina Alexandrova earlier in the tournament, showing signs of promise on a surface that’s long challenged her grass.

Despite being the favorite heading into the final, Swiatek fell to Pegula in straight sets, 6-4, 7-5.

Though her overall showing in Germany was solid, Swiatek was visibly emotional after the defeat. The five-time Grand Slam champion was seen in tears following the match, a moment that touched fans across the tennis world. Many offered words of encouragement online.

“I feel for Iga. She’s really going through it. Hopefully she finds her rhythm before Wimbledon,” one fan wrote.

Another added, “She must be so frustrated — especially with the rankings drop. I hope she can find herself again.”

“The sun will shine on Swiatek again,” someone else declared.

Even Pegula, in her victory speech, had kind words for Swiatek: “Congrats Iga on a great week. I know you say you can’t play on grass, but believe me, you’re still very, very good on it. Don’t be too hard on yourself.”

If Swiatek can carry her form from Bad Homburg into Wimbledon, she could be a serious contender. Still, she has yet to reach the semifinals at the All England Club.
