Women’s college basketball was rocked by unexpected news on March 31 when Olivia Miles, a former Notre Dame standout and projected No. 2 pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft, revealed that she would not be entering the draft. Instead, she opted to return for another NCAA season, though not with the Fighting Irish. Miles also announced she would enter the transfer portal and leave Notre Dame.
The announcement was especially surprising given that Notre Dame had reached the Sweet Sixteen in the NCAA Tournament, only to be eliminated by TCU. On April 8, Miles revealed that she would be transferring to TCU, stepping into the position that former Horned Frogs guard Hailey Van Lith held last season.
Miles’ unexpected transfer, along with other recent departures from Notre Dame, has fueled speculation among fans about a possible rift between her and fellow Irish guard Hannah Hidalgo. However, Miles addressed those rumors directly during an Instagram Live session on April 8.

Responding to a fan who asked, “You and Hannah good?” Miles said, “Yeah, we’re fine.” She emphasized there was no drama between them, adding, “We are perfectly fine, y’all. There is no beef, there is literally no beef. Y’all are creating it out of thin air.”
So despite the surprising move and swirling rumors, Miles made it clear that her relationship with Hidalgo remains strong even as she heads to play for the very team that knocked Notre Dame out of the tournament.
