The Notre Dame Fighting Irish came up just short of their ultimate goal last season, falling to the Ohio State Buckeyes in the College Football Playoff national championship game.
With an eye on the future, head coach Marcus Freeman and his staff are now focused on building a strong foundation ahead of the 2025 season.
On Monday, standout wide receiver Bubba Frazier, a four-star recruit from Benedictine Military School in Savannah, Georgia, announced his commitment to Notre Dame as part of the 2026 recruiting class. Frazier visited South Bend last Friday and made his decision public just 10 days later.

He selected the Fighting Irish over several other top programs, including Georgia, North Carolina, and Wisconsin. “After my spring visits, I had time to think everything over, and Notre Dame just stood out,” Frazier told Blue & Gold. “Even after visiting Wisconsin, I couldn’t stop thinking about Notre Dame. I talked to my family, they supported it, and I made the call.”
Frazier also highlighted the welcoming environment created by the coaching staff. “When I walked into the team meeting, every coach knew my name. I really felt like I belonged,” he said. “The culture and spirituality there made it feel like home.”
According to 247Sports, Notre Dame’s 2026 recruiting class ranks third nationally, behind only USC and Clemson, with nine four-star commitments so far. The team is set to open its 2025 season on August 31 with a much-anticipated matchup against the Miami Hurricanes.
