Nick Saban’s daughter Kristen Saban drops 1-word message to define Jalen Hurts after Eagles beat Chiefs in Super Bowl clash.

Former Alabama quarterback Jalen Hurts delivered a commanding performance in Super Bowl LIX, leading the Philadelphia Eagles to a dominant 40-22 victory over Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs. Hurts threw for 221 yards and two touchdowns while also rushing for 72 yards and another score, solidifying his place among the NFL’s elite.

Following his game-winning display, retired Alabama coach Nick Saban’s daughter, Kristen Saban, shared a simple yet powerful one-word reaction on her Instagram story, acknowledging Hurts’ stellar performance.

“HIM” Kristen wrote.

Hurts’ journey to the NFL began in 2015 as a four-star recruit from Channelview High School in Texas. He was recruited by then-Alabama offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin and quickly made history as Alabama’s first true freshman starting quarterback since 1984. Taking over as QB1 after replacing Blake Barnett, Hurts led the Crimson Tide to an SEC championship and a national championship appearance, earning SEC Offensive Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year honors.

“I got this from coach Saban,” Jalen Hurts. “I think one thing he taught us all – and he taught us all, but not everyone listened. I was one that listened. He taught us that every year is a new season, and it’s an opportunity to restart everything, so you start from the ground up. And you have to have that approach.

“I think just being able to improve from year to year since my freshman year at college and learn from all my experiences, learn from all of my lessons.

However, his time at Alabama took a turn in 2018 when he was benched at halftime of the national championship game in favor of Tua Tagovailoa. Despite becoming Tagovailoa’s backup the following season, Hurts had a memorable moment when he stepped in during the SEC Championship Game, leading Alabama to a comeback win over Georgia. He later transferred to Oklahoma for his final college season before entering the NFL.

“Being able to stand here where I stand today, I think it’s because of that mentality — being determined, having that endurance to keep going and being diligent with the work. The No. 1 thing that I’ve always wanted to do was quantify my work and make the most of those opportunities. And it’s kind of spoke for itself.”

Before Super Bowl LIX, Hurts reflected on the impact of Nick Saban on his career, acknowledging the legendary coach’s role in shaping his path. Selected 53rd overall by the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2020 NFL Draft, Hurts has now cemented himself as a championship-winning quarterback, proving his resilience and talent on the biggest stage.
