Jackson delivered an outstanding performance, throwing for 4,172 yards and 41 touchdowns with only four interceptions. He also added 915 rushing yards and four rushing touchdowns. Despite these impressive stats, he was passed over for the MVP award, which went to Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen.
NFL legend Drew Brees weighed in on Jackson’s MVP snub during an interview with RG. The Super Bowl XLIV MVP and two-time NFL Offensive Player of the Year praised Jackson’s unique abilities. “Lamar Jackson has a skill set unlike any other quarterback,” Brees said. “No one runs like him. You can design an entire offense around his running ability and the way he forces defenses to adjust just by being on the field.”
As the Ravens enter the offseason, they have several key decisions to make to build on their success. One of the biggest questions is whether to re-sign veteran offensive tackle Ronnie Stanley, who is set to become a free agent. The team is also focused on strengthening their wide receiver group and offensive line through the draft and free agency.
To remain competitive next season, the Ravens need to address a few critical areas. Improving their secondary is a priority, as they struggled in pass coverage and allowed significant yardage to opposing quarterbacks. Adding talented cornerbacks and safeties would strengthen their defense.
Additionally, acquiring a dominant edge rusher would improve their pass rush, which has been inconsistent. Another key focus is improving their third-down defense, as their inability to get stops has put extra pressure on their offense.
By addressing these weaknesses, Baltimore can position itself for another strong season and a deeper playoff run in 2025.
