The Netflix trailer for Season 2 of NASCAR’s “Full Speed” series has arrived..

The second season of NASCAR's own "Drive to Survive"-like series on Netflix finally has a release date and an official trailer.

NASCAR enthusiasts have been eagerly awaiting the return of Netflix’s NASCAR docuseries, now entering its second season. Modeled after the popular Formula 1 series Drive to Survive, the show documents the intense 2024 Cup Series playoffs. While F1 has seen a significant surge in American viewership in recent years, NASCAR continues to hold the title of the most-watched motorsport in the U.S.A fanbase Netflix aimed to tap into with this series.

The first season premiered in January of the previous year, spotlighting the 2023 playoffs and Ryan Blaney’s championship win. It drew an average of 3.4 million viewers, marking a strong start for the series.

Season 2 is set to debut on May 7 and will once again delve into the fierce competition for the Cup Series title. Viewers can expect to see familiar faces like Ryan Blaney, Joey Logano, Daniel Suarez, Chase Briscoe, and Christopher Bell among the 16 playoff contenders. The new trailer suggests more behind-the-scenes moments with drivers and their families, along with dramatic highlights from the racetrack.

Notably, the series doesn’t shy away from controversy, as it will feature the contentious Martinsville cut-off race, where accusations of race manipulation sparked penalties and led to Christopher Bell’s shocking elimination from the championship while he stood stunned on pit road.

Morgan Bell’s voice is heard in the trailer, saying, “We have the tiebreaker over William [Byron]… and then I realize nobody is celebrating.” Julia Piquet offers a blunt take on husband Daniel Suarez’s playoff odds: “We sent our boy to war on a donkey, holding a wooden spoon.”

The upcoming season also promises touching personal moments, including Gianna Blaney’s wedding preparations and Chase Briscoe’s family getting ready to welcome twins all while the high-stakes playoffs unfold.
