Naomi Osaka Reacts to Carlos Alcaraz’s Controversial US Open Haircut, The 2025 US Open has delivered plenty of action on the court, but one of the most talked-about stories so far has happened off it.
World No. 2 Carlos Alcaraz—who captured his first Grand Slam title at the 2022 US Open as a teenager—arrived at this year’s tournament sporting a surprising new buzzcut. The Spanish star, celebrated both for his skill and his style, explained that the drastic haircut wasn’t intentional.
According to Alcaraz, his brother made a mistake while using the clippers: “He misunderstood with the machine. He cut it, and the only solution was to shave it all off. It’s not that bad, I guess.”
Social media users, however, strongly disagreed. The look sparked the trending hashtag #Baldcaraz, with fans quick to poke fun at the unexpected transformation.
