MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — For Jaden Bray, a newcomer to the state, West Virginia’s charm didn’t come from flashy landmarks or modern luxuries. A native of Ohio, Bray moved to Morgantown recently for a job opportunity. West Virginia’s moniker, “Almost Heaven,” made famous by John Denver’s song “Take Me Home, Country Roads,” resonates with both locals and newcomers alike.
