Luke Littler’s nine-word message to Beau Greaves after she spoiled his chances of winning two darts finals in one day

Luke Littler had the chance to etch his name in darts history with two finals in one day — but Beau Greaves had other plans. After being denied a place in the World Youth Championship final by Greaves, Littler issued a cheeky nine-word message that’s sparked plenty of buzz across the darts world:

“You best not to be taking that Tour Card!”

The 17-year-old sensation had just come off the high of winning the World Grand Prix, beating Luke Humphries in the final to claim his first major senior title and a £120,000 prize. Just a day later, he was eyeing up a second shot at silverware — this time at the PDC World Youth Championship.

Littler stormed through the early rounds and looked set for another final appearance. However, Beau Greaves — a trailblazer in women’s darts — stood in his way in the semi-finals. In a dramatic match that went the full distance, Greaves edged out Littler 6–5 in a last-leg decider, sending shockwaves through the tournament.

The match was a classic: Littler produced two 10-dart legs and narrowly missed a 9-darter, but Greaves held her nerve. After the defeat, Littler took to social media and sent a private message to Greaves that quickly made headlines:

“You best not to be taking that Tour Card!”

While the tone was light-hearted, the message carried a deeper meaning. Greaves, just 21, has long been tipped as the next big name in darts and has previously dominated the women’s circuit. Her performance against Littler only added fuel to the discussion around whether she will take up a PDC Tour Card, which would allow her to compete full-time on the professional circuit — including in events where Littler is now a major contender.

Littler later followed up with a classy post on Instagram Stories, showing respect for Greaves’ performance:

> “I had two 10 dart legs, missed D12 for a nine and still couldn’t win. Fair play to Beau Greaves, all the best in Minehead, some talent.”

Fans and pundits praised Littler’s maturity in defeat, especially given the high stakes and tight schedule. His words were taken as a mix of playful rivalry and genuine admiration for a fellow young star who could soon become a regular opponent.

Greaves, who will now play in the final against Leighton Bennett, has not yet confirmed whether she will accept a Tour Card if offered. But after defeating one of darts’ brightest stars, the pressure is certainly mounting for her to make the leap.

As for Littler, the loss may sting — but at just 17, his meteoric rise shows no signs of slowing down. And judging by his message, he knows there’s plenty more battles with Beau Greaves to come.
