Luke Goode’s request for a fifth-year has been denied, bringing an end to his college basketball career.

Luke Goode, a senior forward, will not be returning to Indiana for a fifth year after the NCAA denied his medical waiver. Goode had sought to regain his sophomore year, in which he only played 10 games for the University of Illinois due to a broken foot suffered in the preseason.

Goode, a Fort Wayne native with family ties to Indiana University athletics, transferred to Indiana for the 2024-25 season. During that season, he averaged 9.1 points and 3.1 rebounds per game, shooting 39.2% from beyond the arc and overall from the field.

Expressing his gratitude and looking forward to the future, Goode posted:

“Thank you God for the journey through highs and lows. Can’t wait for what’s next!” This decision comes after Goode previously stated his strong desire to continue playing for Indiana, saying he’d “do anything I can to play in the candy stripes again.”

With Goode’s departure, Indiana’s 2025-26 basketball roster currently stands at 12 scholarship players, all of whom are new to the program, including the entire coaching staff led by new head coach Darian DeVries.

Is there anything else I can help you with regarding Luke Goode or the Indiana basketball team?
