Lindsey Vonn announced her return to alpine skiing racing in 2024, almost six years after her initial retirement from the sport.

The US ski legend aims to end the ‘second chapter’ of her storied career at the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026. She resumed World Cup competition in December 2024 after earning the necessary FIS points in Copper Mountain, Colorado.

Over a career spanning almost two decades, the Minnesota-born star has won every major title including multiple crystal globe trophies as overall World Cup season winner across all disciplines, small globes for topping the season standings in one discipline, Olympic medals, and World Championship honours.

The Team USA legend remains the second-most successful woman in World Cup history, with 82 wins. She’s also one of only six female skiers to have claimed World Cup victories across all five disciplines (downhill, super-G, giant slalom, slalom, and combined).
