Injuries continue to trouble the Indiana Fever during the Playoff Semifinals. Just hours before Game 2 against the Las Vegas Aces, Lexie Hull was listed as “questionable” with a back injury, but later cleared to play.
Despite Indiana’s 90-68 defeat to Stephanie White’s Aces, Hull etched her name into the Fever record books. She posted 15 points, three rebounds, and two assists in 29 minutes, highlighted by five made three-pointers. That mark tied the franchise record for most threes in a playoff game a feat not matched in 10 years and placed her alongside former Fever greats Marissa Coleman, Katie Douglas, and Tangela Smith, with Coleman and Douglas being the only ones to do it twice.
While Hull’s performance stood out, Indiana had no answer for A’ja Wilson, who led all scorers with 25 points and nine rebounds in 33 minutes. NaLyssa Smith (18 points) and Jackie Young (13 points) also contributed for the Aces. For the Fever, Odyssey Sims topped the scoring with 18 points, followed by Hull’s 15.
Indiana’s depth issues were evident as six players Damiris Dantas, Sophie Cunningham, Aari McDonald, Sydney Colson, Chloe Bibby, and Caitlin Clark were unavailable. Of those, only Dantas, still in concussion protocol, has a chance of returning soon.
The series now shifts to Gainbridge Fieldhouse for Games 3 and 4 on Friday, September 26, and Sunday, September 28. Should the teams remain tied, a decisive Game 5 will be played Tuesday, September 30, at Michelob ULTRA Arena in Las Vegas.
