Kyle Busch returning to Snowball Derby at Five Flags Speedway for first time since 2020.

Two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Busch is set to make his long-awaited return to the Snowball Derby at Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, Florida, marking his first appearance since 2020. The event, one of short-track racing’s most prestigious showcases, will take place Dec. 4–7.

Busch will compete in the No. 51 Lucas Oil car for Bryson Lopez Racing, with Danny Stockman who led Jesse Love and Richard Childress Racing’s No. 2 team to the 2025 NASCAR Xfinity Series title serving as crew chief.

“It’s been a while since I’ve raced at Five Flags, but I still know my way around,” Busch said. “The Snowball Derby is a race every driver wants to win more than once, and I’m excited to be back with the No. 51 Lucas Oil team and FloRacing to chase that trophy again.”

Busch has five previous starts in the Derby, debuting in 2002 before capturing wins in 2009 and 2017. His most recent outing in 2020 saw him start ninth and finish seventh.

The Snowball Derby, first held in 1968, has become a proving ground for many NASCAR stars, with past winners including Chase Elliott, Erik Jones, Ty Majeski, and Noah Gragson. This year’s field again features a strong NASCAR presence, including Busch, Jones, Gragson, and Ryan Preece, along with several Xfinity and Truck Series competitors like Kaden Honeycutt, Jake Garcia, and Bayley Currey.

Festivities begin Thursday, Dec. 4, with practice, followed by qualifying on Dec. 5. The main event, the 58th running of the Snowball Derby will go green at 1 p.m. CT (2 p.m. ET) on Sunday, Dec. 7, airing live on FloRacing and with Friday’s qualifying session also broadcast on the NASCAR Channel.
