The rising UConn guard has been soaking up the positive energy from fans all over the country, and she’s not shy about how much it means to her. With her electric style of play and relentless motor on both ends of the court, Arnold quickly became a fan favorite in Storrs. But the support she’s been receiving online recently has taken things to another level.
“It’s honestly overwhelming in the best way,” Arnold said with a smile. “People are constantly sending messages, tagging me in edits, and just showing love. It means a lot because I know they see how hard I’m working.”
Arnold, who played a major role in UConn’s 2024 tournament run, has continued to grow into her leadership role as a sophomore. Whether she’s pushing the pace in transition, locking down opposing guards, or firing up the Gampel Pavilion crowd, her passion is impossible to miss. And it hasn’t gone unnoticed.
“Some of the things fans say really stick with me,” she added. “Like, when someone tells me I inspire their daughter to hoop? That’s crazy. I was that kid not too long ago.”
Arnold has leaned into the connection, often reposting fan tributes or replying to young athletes who look up to her. She credits her UConn teammates and the women’s basketball community at large for creating a space where that love can thrive.
“It’s not just about me, it’s about all of us pushing the game forward,” she said. “And the fans? They’re right there with us.”
With another season on the horizon, Arnold says she’s using all the support as motivation.
“I see it, I feel it, and I promise I’m going to keep giving everything I’ve got,” she said. “This is only the beginning.”
