Kalen DeBoer shares details from latest Alabama football scrimmage of spring..

Alabama football wrapped up its third and final spring scrimmage on Thursday at the Thomas-Drew practice fields. While head coach Kalen DeBoer didn’t meet with the media afterward, he did spend about 20 minutes answering questions on Tide 100.9.

Reflecting on the 117-play scrimmage, DeBoer described it as a competitive session.

“It was a good mix on both sides, which is what you want to see,” he said. “The defense remained solid, holding up well against both the run and the pass. Offensively, we improved on ball security compared to last week—fewer fumbles this time. Protecting the ball is key, but it was great to see both units making plays. We had some nice downfield throws and catches, and the defense responded with a few interceptions. As a coach, that back-and-forth is exactly what you’re looking for.”

DeBoer also noted he’s pleased with the team’s overall progress, despite several veteran players missing time due to injury.

“I think it could be a positive in the long run, giving younger players more reps and helping us build depth for the fall,” he said.

Alabama is set for one final practice on Friday ahead of Saturday’s A-Day, which will follow a practice-style format rather than a traditional game.
