Iowa Hooper Jada Gyamfi Sends Heartfelt Note as Former Teammate Caitlin Clark Earns All-Star Captain Honors.

As Caitlin Clark continues to etch her name into the history books, former Iowa teammate Jada Gyamfi took a moment to celebrate her friend’s latest milestone being named a 2025 WNBA All-Star Game captain.

In a heartfelt message shared on social media Monday, Gyamfi praised Clark not just for her on-court brilliance but for the leadership and humility she displayed throughout their time together in Iowa City.

“From the practice courts to the big stage, I’ve seen firsthand how much heart and work you pour into the game,” Gyamfi wrote. “Becoming an All-Star captain is no surprise to anyone who’s been lucky enough to share the floor with you. You’ve earned every bit of this, Caitlin.”

Clark, now a rookie guard with the Indiana Fever, has taken the WNBA by storm. The former NCAA all-time leading scorer was voted an All-Star starter by fans, players, and media and will now serve as one of the captains for the annual showcase alongside Las Vegas Aces star A’ja Wilson.

Gyamfi, who transferred from Iowa in 2023, remains close with many of her former teammates and has often voiced her support for Clark’s journey to the pros.

“You’ve always been a leader, even when the lights weren’t this bright,” Gyamfi added. “Now the whole world sees it too.”

Clark’s captaincy is yet another highlight in a whirlwind rookie season that has made her a household name across sports. And for teammates past and present, it’s a reminder that the Caitlin Clark legacy isn’t just about stats,  it’s about inspiration.
