Hidalgo Earns USA Basketball Women’s AmeriCup Team Trials Spot.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Notre Dame junior Hannah Hidalgo is among 21 athletes selected to compete in trials for the 2025 USA Basketball Women’s AmeriCup Team, which will take place beginning June 17 at the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs.

Hidalgo brings international experience, having won gold medals with the U17 and U19 USA Women’s World Cup teams in 2022 and 2023. She was also honored as the 2023 USA Basketball Female Athlete of the Year. This past season, she stood out as one of the country’s top guards, earning AP All-America First Team honors for the second consecutive year making her just the fourth player ever to do so in both of her first two college seasons.

As a sophomore, she broke her own school record by averaging 23.8 points per game, surpassing the 22.6 she posted as a freshman. She now holds 23 Notre Dame records, including single-season steals (160) and steals per game (4.6). With 1,551 career points, she ranks 18th in program history and reached 1,000 points faster than anyone else, doing so in just 44 games.

If selected for the team, Hidalgo will head to Santiago, Chile from June 28 to July 6 to compete in the 2025 FIBA Women’s AmeriCup. Team USA will play in Group B alongside Chile, Colombia, Puerto Rico, and Mexico. The tournament champion will qualify for the 2026 FIBA Women’s World Cup in Berlin.
