Here’s how Sentinel-area track and field athletes performed in 2025 national outdoor meets

A number of athletes from the Sentinel area took part in national track and field championship events over the weekend.

The majority competed at the New Balance Nationals Outdoor meet, held from Thursday to Sunday at Philadelphia’s Franklin Field. Cumberland Valley’s Rukie Efeturi, Mohamed Himmad, Owen Bramblett, and Ke’Aune Green led the way locally with a 12th-place finish in the 4×100-meter relay championship. Northern’s Jaden Brubaker also stood out, taking eighth place in the freshman 800-meter run.

Northern was additionally represented at the Nike Outdoor Nationals at Hayward Field, University of Oregon, where rising senior Burke Heltzel placed 16th in the boys’ 2,000-meter steeplechase championship.

Meanwhile, recent Northern graduate Carson Hill earned the area’s top finish at the Adidas Nationals, claiming ninth in the boys’ javelin championship at North Carolina A&T’s Marcus T. Johnson Track Complex. East Pennsboro’s boys and girls 4×100-meter relay teams both secured 23rd place in the national elite division.
