The FIA has released the list of drivers who must speak to the media ahead of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, with Lando Norris, Max Verstappen, and Oscar Piastri among those selected. As usual, six drivers and three team representatives are scheduled to take questions before the weekend officially begins.
On Thursday at 14:30 local time, Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc, Mercedes’ George Russell, and Racing Bulls’ Isack Hadjar who will move up to Red Bull Racing in 2026 will meet the press. Leclerc enters the final race looking for his first and only win of 2025 for Ferrari, while Russell aims to secure second place in the Constructors’ Championship for Mercedes. Hadjar will likely face questions about his upcoming promotion.
The second trio Norris, Verstappen, and Piastri will speak at 15:00. Norris and Verstappen, the main contenders for the title, recently traded verbal jabs in Qatar. Verstappen claimed he would already be champion if he were driving the McLaren, prompting Norris to call Red Bull’s comments “nonsense.” Verstappen replied that he was merely stating “facts.”
On Friday at 15:30, McLaren CEO Zak Brown, Red Bull team boss Laurent Mekies, and Sauber team principal Jonathan Wheatley will address the media.
There was also a brief stir when the Formula 1 app mistakenly listed Norris as the 2025 World Champion ahead of the Abu Dhabi finale.
