Fever lose Aari McDonald, Sydney Colson for rest of season.

On August 8, the Indiana Fever suffered a major setback, losing guards Aari McDonald and Sydney Colson for the remainder of the season after both were injured in a 95-60 road defeat to the Phoenix Mercury. McDonald fractured her right foot in the fourth quarter, while Colson tore the ACL in her left knee during the opening period. The team confirmed the injuries Friday, ahead of Saturday’s home game against the Chicago Sky.

McDonald had been averaging 9.8 points, 4.7 assists, and 1.3 steals in 20 games (13 starts), while Colson posted 2.4 points and 2.0 assists across 30 appearances (six starts). Their absences come as standout guard Caitlin Clark remains sidelined with a right groin injury, set to miss her 10th straight game Saturday.

With only nine available players, Indiana can apply for a hardship roster addition after the game. The Sky will also be short-handed, as Angel Reese (back) is out for the eighth time in the last 10 contests.
