Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark has been out of action since July 15 due to a groin injury she sustained in the final moments of a game against the Connecticut Sun. This is her third soft tissue injury this season, and she has now missed more than half of the team’s regular season games.

In a July 24 press release, the Fever stated: “Caitlin Clark underwent further medical evaluations earlier this week, and no new injuries or damage were found.” The team added that Clark will continue working closely with medical staff on her recovery, emphasizing her long-term health. They did not provide a timeline for her return and said no additional information would be released for now.
As with her previous injuries, the Fever appear to be taking a cautious approach to her comeback.
ESPN Projects Potential Return Date for Clark
While there’s no confirmed timeline for Clark’s return, ESPN has listed August 12 when the Fever play the Dallas Wings as a potential return date on their website. This projection, though unofficial, has sparked attention on social media.
One user on X shared a screenshot, noting, “ESPN has Caitlin’s return date listed as August 12.” Another pointed out, “She’s listed as out through at least August 12, which would mean missing seven more games. With 12 games left after that, if the Fever stay playoff-bound, I doubt she’ll be rushed back.”
It’s important to stress that ESPN’s listing is only a speculative estimate and not based on official information from the team. Nonetheless, the suggested date has intrigued fans and fueled conversation online.
