Eli Tomac Plans on Returning Before End of Supercross Season..

Eli Tomac of Monster Energy/Star Racing Yamaha hopes to return for the final rounds of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross season after suffering a broken fibula during qualifying at Round 5 in Tampa.

In an interview with ‘Swap Moto Live’, Tomac shared that his recovery timeline is around six weeks, giving him a realistic shot at competing before the season ends. “If everything goes as planned, I believe I can be back for the last few Supercross rounds,” he said. “I want to get more gate drops in before motocross.”

Initially, Tomac thought he had only twisted his ankle and attempted to push through the pain, managing to finish 17th in the race. However, after further evaluation, doctors confirmed he had a fractured fibula. He underwent surgery last week in Vail, Colorado.

“I have a small plate in my leg now,” Tomac revealed. “I didn’t even realize it was broken until Tuesday afternoon.”
