Eileen Gu Shares Selfies With Tom Cruise and LeBron James.

Freeskiing's most famous athlete's celebrity is continuing to grow.

Eileen Gu ranks among the top freeskiers in the world and, according to Sportico, was the second-highest paid female athlete globally in 2024. Beyond her athletic prowess, Gu is a bona fide supermodel and fashion trendsetter, with endorsements from major brands like Porsche, Red Bull, and Louis Vuitton.

Her influence extends far beyond the slopes. POWDER recently spotlighted her appearance in Sports Illustrated Swimsuit, marking her as only the third skier ever featured in the iconic annual issue. Just when it seemed Gu couldn’t be any more impressive, she dropped an Instagram carousel that had the entire POWDER team awestruck.

One standout photo shows her casually posing with Tom Cruise at the premiere of Mission Impossible – The Final Reckoning. Another captures her alongside LeBron James future Hall of Famer and the NBA’s all-time scoring leader whom she bumped into at the Hammer Museum Gala on May 17, 2025.

These celebrity-packed snapshots were part of a May 30, 2025 Instagram post. Interestingly, the Cruise and James pics weren’t even the main highlight raising the question: how effortlessly cool do you have to be to bury selfies with such icons deep in a post? Apparently, only Eileen-Gu-cool.

The carousel also featured moments from a recent climbing trip, a serene desert vacation, a wake surfing adventure, a glammed-up selfie, and a humorous photo of her cat. These posts offer a glimpse into her glamorous, globe-trotting life and are adored by her 2+ million followers. While her summer content leans into lifestyle and public appearances, fans might see skiing clips make a comeback soon.

Still only 21, Gu is the reigning Olympic Gold Medalist in Women’s Big Air and Halfpipe and a Silver medalist in Slopestyle. She’s expected to return to the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan-Cortina with fierce determination. Despite dealing with some minor injuries last season, she still notched several World Cup wins. Her December 2024 Halfpipe win at Copper Mountain, Colorado, made her the most successful athlete in FIS Freestyle World Cup history with 17 victories an achievement she’s sure to build on when the new season starts this November.
