Duke Blue Devils News: MBB Exhibition Schedule, Cameron Boozer Speaks Out, Summer League Domination, and More

DURHAM, N.C. — The Duke Blue Devils are making headlines this summer with key updates across their men’s basketball program. From their upcoming exhibition schedule to standout performances in the NBA Summer League and future star Cameron Boozer speaking candidly about his recruitment, there’s no shortage of buzz surrounding the Blue Devils.

Men’s Basketball Exhibition Schedule Set

Duke Men’s Basketball announced its 2025 exhibition schedule this week, including highly anticipated matchups that will serve as early tune-ups before the regular season begins. The Blue Devils will host two exhibition games at Cameron Indoor Stadium: one against Fayetteville State on October 26 and another against a to-be-announced Division II opponent. These matchups will give fans an early look at new additions like five-star recruits Cooper Flagg and Isaiah Evans, while also showcasing returning talents such as Tyrese Proctor and Caleb Foster.

Head Coach Jon Scheyer emphasized the importance of these games as part of the team’s preparation. “It’s a chance for us to build chemistry, find our identity, and get our younger guys accustomed to playing under the lights at Cameron,” Scheyer said.

Cameron Boozer Speaks on Recruitment and Duke Legacy

One of the top prospects in the 2025 class, Cameron Boozer — son of Duke legend Carlos Boozer — recently opened up about his recruiting process and the pressures of being linked to the Blue Devils.

“There’s always going to be a connection with Duke because of my dad,” Boozer said in a recent interview. “But I want to make my own path. Duke is definitely in the mix, but I’m keeping an open mind and looking at all my options.”

Despite his measured tone, many analysts believe Duke remains a frontrunner. The younger Boozer, known for his polished game and high basketball IQ, would be a major get for the Blue Devils in the post-Flagg era.

Summer League Domination by Duke Alumni

Duke alumni have been lighting up the NBA Summer League, with standout performances from rookies and second-year pros alike. Jared McCain, recently drafted by the Philadelphia 76ers, turned heads with a 28-point performance highlighted by elite shooting and court awareness.

Meanwhile, Mark Mitchell and Dereck Lively II showed growth in their all-around games, with Lively posting multiple double-doubles for the Dallas Mavericks Summer League squad.

Duke’s strong Summer League presence reinforces the program’s reputation for producing NBA-ready talent. “Seeing our guys thrive at the next level is what it’s all about,” said Scheyer. “It reflects the work they put in while wearing the Duke jersey.”

Other Headlines: Coaching, Conditioning, and Recruiting

In other news, assistant coach Chris Carrawell has been actively scouting future talent on the summer AAU circuit, with Duke reportedly showing interest in several top-10 prospects for 2026. Additionally, the team has launched a revamped strength and conditioning program this offseason, designed to boost endurance and injury prevention heading into a grueling ACC schedule.

With a mix of high-profile recruits, strong NBA showings, and a solid foundation heading into the season, Duke basketball remains a powerhouse both on and off the court.
