Olympic sprinter Gabby Thomas has reached out to fans for advice regarding a troubling stalking situation involving a group of middle-aged men who have been following her across multiple U.S. airports. In a TikTok video posted on Jan. 28, the 28-year-old athlete expressed fear and uncertainty, explaining that these men ranging from three to six individuals frequently appear at her travel destinations, often with photos of her they insist she signs.
Thomas revealed that no matter which city she travels to whether Chicago, Miami, or elsewhere the men somehow obtain her flight details, showing up at airport entrances, concourses, or even her gate, suggesting they buy tickets to pass through security. Despite changing her email passwords, Thomas remains puzzled as to how they access her travel information, noting that she often doesn’t know her own itinerary until shortly before departure.
The sprinter, who secured three gold medals at the 2024 Paris Olympics, said the men typically carry around 40 photos for her to autograph, likely for resale. Their persistence turns aggressive when she declines, and encounters have become increasingly hostile, even involving her boyfriend recently. Thomas expressed frustration over the invasion of her privacy, admitting that traveling alone now feels frightening.
Fans and fellow athletes have shown support, with Olympic gold medalist Ilona Maher calling the situation “so scary.” Tennis star Coco Gauff shared that she’s faced similar experiences, speculating that airport staff might be tipping off stalkers. In a follow-up video, Thomas filmed two men following her at Chicago’s airport, vowing to continue documenting these encounters and report them to authorities, hoping to prevent further harassment.
