Congratulations: Lisowski is October Player of the Month.

Jack Lisowski has been named the WPBSA Players’ Player of the Month for October, following his remarkable maiden ranking title win at the 2025 BetVictor Northern Ireland Open in Belfast.

The 34-year-old fan favourite finally claimed his long-awaited first ranking crown with an emotional 9–8 victory over close friend and current world number one Judd Trump. His performance earned him an overwhelming 78% of the players’ vote, finishing ahead of runner-up Liam Pullen and joint third-placed world champions Shaun Murphy and Mark Williams.

Reflecting on his triumph, Lisowski told WST:

“I’ve dreamed of this moment since I was six or seven years old—it feels surreal. Judd has been my best friend since I was 14. He was with me in Hong Kong eight months ago when I got the message about my dad. He’s been like a brother to me. When my dad passed, I said he’d never see me win a title, but my friend reminded me that I could still do it for my mum. This is for him and for my mum.”

About the Award

Each month during the 2025/26 season, an independent panel including broadcasters David Hendon and Abigail Davies, journalist Phil Haigh, and WPBSA Players Director Tian Pengfei—selects a shortlist based on performances in completed events.
