CONGRATULATIONS: Amusan wins Rabat Diamond League 100m hurdles, sets new record..

Tobi Amusan has won the women’s 100 meters hurdles race at the Diamond League meet in Rabat, Morocco.

At 28, Amusan recorded her season’s best of 12.24 seconds, finishing comfortably ahead of her rivals and setting a new meet record, surpassing Brianna McNeal’s previous 12.51-second mark. This win marks Amusan’s first major success of the 2025 season, following back-to-back fourth-place finishes at the Xiamen and Shanghai Diamond League events in May.

Earlier in March, she secured a win at Velocity Fest 16 in Jamaica, though the field featured less competitive opponents. Her latest victory signifies a fresh start after a disappointing close to her 2024 season, which saw her miss out on the 100m hurdles final at the Paris Olympics.

Amusan has since joined Racers Track Club, led by Glen Mills former coach of Usain Bolt. Reflecting on her Rabat victory, she attributed her improved performance to a shift in training focus.

“I’ve been focusing more on hurdles lately since I had been doing mostly sprinting. After the first two Diamond League meets, I realized I needed to return to hurdle drills,” she said. “Just two weeks of that, and I already notice the improvement.”

Amusan previously won the Diamond League women’s 100m hurdles title three years in a row, from 2021 to 2023.
